Cookie Policy
Which cookies this site uses, how long they stay active, and what they're for.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a site saves in the browser of whoever visits it, to remember information between one page and another or between one visit and the next. Below you'll find every cookie portale3d.it uses, grouped by type.
Technical cookies (always active)
They are needed for the site to work and don't require consent. They are never used for statistics or advertising.
- P3DSID — until the browser is closed — sign-in session: it appears only when you start the Google sign-in or are already signed in, and it lets the site recognize you as you move between pages and projects;
- p3d_rm — 60 days — "remember me": only if you are signed in, it keeps you signed in after the browser is closed. It holds a random code that changes on every use and is deleted when you press Sign out;
- faro_consent — 1 year — present only if you accept analytics cookies in the banner: it tells Faro it may use them. Your choice, including a refusal, is kept in the browser's local storage (
p3d-cookie-consent), so the banner doesn't come back on every page.
These cookies apply to portale3d.it only and are not read by other sites.
Our own analytics cookies (Faro) — only with your consent
The site uses Faro, an in-house traffic analytics system not shared with third parties. If you accept analytics cookies in the banner, Faro sets:
- faro_cid — duration 1 year — an anonymous visitor identifier, to recognize returns to the site without linking them to a real identity;
- faro_sid — duration 30 minutes — a session identifier, to tell one visit from another;
- faro_src — duration 30 days — stores which channel the visitor came from (e.g. a link shared on social media), to understand which channels work best.
If you refuse, or haven't chosen yet, Faro sets no cookies at all: it only counts visits in aggregate form, using a code derived from IP and browser through a salted hash, which changes every day and can't be used to follow you over time.
Sign in with Google
If you press Sign in with Google you are taken to accounts.google.com, which sets its own cookies under Google's policy. Once you are signed in, your profile picture is loaded from Google's servers without sending the address of the page you are on. If you don't use sign-in, none of these requests happen.
Advertising cookies (not yet active)
The site is a candidate for the Google AdSense program. If and when ads are activated, Google and its partners may set profiling cookies to show relevant advertising, only after your explicit consent, as required by European regulations (GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive). As of today, no advertising cookie is present on the site.
How to manage cookies
You can change your choice about analytics cookies by deleting the site's cookies: on your next visit the banner will ask again. You can also block or delete all cookies from your browser settings: browsing still works, but without the technical cookies you won't be able to stay signed in to your account.
